Mike over on the Google Plus Bicycle Commuting Group posted this great video prepared by Lothian Buses – servicing Edinburgh. The video is a realistic portrayal of what its like driving a bus with cyclists in mixed traffic i.e. if you don’t have segregated bicycle lanes. The video starts from the driver’s perspective and goes on to show cyclists the kinds of danger they inadvertently put themselves in. Its not alarmist. I would recommend putting the sound on mute – the music sucks.

This should give anyone who rides in the city pause for thought about how to position themselves on the road.
