The math just does not add up. The author of the post is using US costs, but you can do some back of the envelope rejigging to figure out what your car ownership runs wherever you are. The key point was that for a simple 40 minute commute – Americans are wasting about $125K every 10 years. That seems like a lot of useful cash blown.
